To me it seemed like Bentley"s is winding down!! We arrived back from our night at 11.30pm ordered wine and some nibbles got our wine but were told "we don"t do nibbles!! our morning waiter was fab but I lost count of how many times he said sorry!! as any item I ordered from the menue was not possible.
The majorityu of the staff werte excellent. However one person at the front desk when we checked in was extremely negative to the point of being hostile. I think she was the manager. I found her to be not only disagreeable to me but also thought she spokje to her staff with disrespect.
The individual at the front desk. Based on my experience with that front desk manager I would not recommend this hotel
Good food, great location. Lovely old Georgian house overlooking Stephens Green.
Requested quiet room but was noisy until about 1 am. 3 flights of stairs to bedroom, no lift presumably due to age of building. Room was nicely decorated but small and bathroom tiles were in need of re-grouting or replacing. Breakfast was very good but service was too slow for business travellers and didn't get my order right.
The location perfect. The breakfast was superb.
The walk to the very top floor.
Ideal location in central Dublin, cosy atmosphere and very friendly staff. The breakfast was very good (fresh products, nice room).
The bathroom was a bit old (separate taps for cold and warm water) and there was no toilet brush, but everything was functional.
Excellent food only problem was the size of the room a lot smaller than what we expected otherwise an excellent address in Dublin city.
Location is perfect, the dining and food quality is excellent and the actual building itself is fantastic, not modern and perfect but older and full of character. Too many hotels try to be like chain hotels but The Cliff has the right mix of old world meets a bit of luxury. Many people might say it needs a lick of paint here or there but an old building like this is never going to look like a new build and nor should it. It's like stepping into somewhere familiar and feeling at home, really great place to stay, much better than more expensive places i've stayed in.
If you are elderly you may not like the stairs, but if you are mobile the walk up them only makes the bedroom even more appealing.
We liked the ambience of the Hotel in general - it was very relaxed/comfortable! We loved the breakfasts and our waitress was very welcoming, friendly and profesional! We will highly recommend the Hotel to friends and family!
The lack of a lounge area.
Excellent food. Busy and popular, but quiet as well so not noisy or stressful.Excellent and friendly staff. Good location. Pretty building;superior rooms are very spacious.
Excellent location good food fab comfortable rooms and great service
Not enough pillows on the beds
The building and the location were perfect for our stay.
I missed the point about buffet breakfast until 8am, I had to leave before 8am.
Excellent location, very central and right on St Stephen's Green, good buses outside the door. Lovely building, room comfortable though a little dark (could have done with better lighting) and well furnished. Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast excellent.
Morning tea took half an hour to arrive, by which time I had got up! It would have been better for me to have a tray & kettle and to have made my own.
Beautiful Georgian building, friendly staff, lovely large room and excellant breakfast.
Everything was well done at the Cliff Townhouse and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend a stay there.
Big old Victorian House, very different from the usual routine hotels. Fantastic location. Comfortable bedrooms. Super breakfast and nice staff.
Some people might not like the fact that there are a lot of stairs to take before reaching the bedroom. it does not affect me as I never take lifts!
